This time, our design abilities are being put to the test on an exciting, new international project. We are working on a renovation of an existing estate for one of the wealthiest textile moguls in Thailand. Our design team is adding on a 15,000 square foot ballroom to this residence, along with a formal, traditional Chinese dining area. We are renovating bathrooms and various living spaces within the home to make it more suitable for entertaining ambassadors, dignitaries, and various government officials, for which the homeowner frequently hosts events in his home. The entire family is quite philanthropic as well, hosting several large benefit events per year for charity organizations.

We are working on this project in conjunction with the talented group at Marc Michaels Interior Design, based out of Winter Park, Florida. Marc Michaels is consistently ranked one of the top 100 Interior Design firms in the world, by Interior Design Magazine. We are working exclusive with Marc Michaels on the architectural aspects of the project, and possibly some of their upcoming projects in the Middle East as well.

Dominick Tringali Architects is excited to add these projects to our growing list of international experience. We look forward to upcoming joint ventures with Marc Michaels and bringing our signature DTA flair and design ability to the International market.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 229px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_cTHl9Q3YhW4/TRjnzT6Nd2I/AAAAAAAAADA/MI0uU8nIjt4/s320/10142-Thailand%2BProject-South-West%2BElevation.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5555445009065277282" />

Visit www.DTArchitects.com or www.Marc-Michaels.com for more information!

Dominick Tringali Architects is a residential, custom and community architectural firm specializing in the methodology lifestyle by design. The exterior style is English Tudor with a bit of an Eclectic flair. Inside, the home is innovative, sustainable, and perfectly designed for today’s modern family.

This project was originally created as a show home, in a partnership with a local high-end mall. Proceeds from public tours through the home went toward a charity. The overall goal was to show the public, especially those who may be on the fence about building a home, the benefits of building a new home with creativity, sustainability, and efficiency.

Find out more about this design and view stunning images of the completed project by visiting Residential Design and Build Magazine online.

Dominick Tringali Architects is a residential, custom and community architectural firm specializing in the methodology lifestyle by design. The open floor plan was designed for both livability and entertaining, embracing the outdoors as it opens to an expansive screened porch and rear courtyard. As a budget-conscious project, strong emphasis was placed on the economy of materials, unassuming details and a simple massing throughout the design of the home. Additionally, the client procured all materials, accessories, furniture and cabinetry from local vendors, resulting in a substantial cost savings while not compromising the finish of the residence.

The designer included typical living spaces of larger homes into this smaller, more efficient floor plan. Design solutions were achieved with a floor plan which was smaller in square footage but efficient to build. The plan incorporates all living spaces the homeowner requested with additional spaces for relaxing and entertaining friends and family. This was achieved by taking advantage of the site and warm climate through outdoor living spaces. A large, inviting front porch and a unique screened-in rear sunroom with a fireplace provide additional living and entertaining space.

Dominick Tringali Architects is a residential, custom and community architectural firm specializing in the methodology lifestyle by design. At the same time, many families with newer homes are looking for ways to make their home more energy-efficient and earth conscious.

That’s where Simonini Builders comes in. Located at Kiawah and Seabrook Island, and Charlotte, North Carolina, Simonini Builders has an office conveniently located in the Freshfields Village and they are ready to sit down with you and run through a whole list of creative, innovative solutions to improving your home both inside and out. And by making a majority of their interior design options available in their office showroom, Simonini Builders is a one-stop shop for changing your aging home into the house of your dreams.

Simonini Builders began building on Daniel Island in 2000 and by 2001, they had completed their tenth home. In 2005 they were up to 50 homes and had begun building custom homes on the Isle of Palms. That same year, Simonini Builders was hired by Kiawah Development Partners to build The Cassique Garden Cottages and to date, their company has built more than 180 homes across the Lowcountry.

“We’re always looking for trends,” said Fred Bricketto, Division Manager for Simonini Builders in Charleston. “What does the customer want and what is the industry doing? Overall, we look for three things: form, function and beauty.”

In order to track down those trends, Simonini Builders travels to all corners of the United States and abroad. A study in Naples, Florida; Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; and Newport Beach, California, yielded some interesting new trends: the creation of “Right Sized Home” home design and reconstruction, and bringing the outdoors, in.

Inspired by several beautifully designed homes with surprisingly small footprints, Simonini Builders began designing homes with open spaces and multiple use applications. Extra large glass doors are often integrated on porches and gardens access areas, and kitchens are designed to accommodate multiple chefs and room for several people to sit and talk during dinner parties.

Simonini Builders recently announced their new Coastal Series Portfolio Homes for lot owners looking to build a pre-planned and pre-priced home. For condo owners, their “Condo Makeover” program gives new life to a condo while only taking six weeks total from start to finish. Simonini and its designers sit down with the condo owners and find out exactly what they’re looking for, even providing samples of design options so the owners can see and feel their choices. The entire project is then listed with all of the details and an estimated price is always given prior to construction.

For homeowners looking to give their whole home a facelift while not delving into building a completely new home, Simonini Builders has partnered with nationally renowned architect Dominick Tringali to custom-design the exterior of homes through a “Coastal Inspiration.” With this program, a picture is taken of the home and Tringali sketches a black and white overlay according to the owner’s specifications, then paints the redesign in watercolor so that it can be taken to the island’s architectural review committee. The entire cost of the redesign is $750, but the amount will be credited back to the homeowner if they chose to go with Simonini Builders.

“We’re your builder,” said Bricketto. “But we’re also your guide. We take you through the steps and share what we’re learning as a company and how it can be applied to your home.”

Simonini Builders is one of a handful of builders across the country who has won the construction industry’s “Triple Crown,” having been named National Builder of the Year, America’s Best Builder and winner of the National Housing Quality Award. They are also the only builder nationwide to win the National Association of Home Builders and Professional Builder Magazine Gold level of award twice and was the 2002 America’s best builder award winner from Builder Magazine and the Business Management Committee of the National Association of Home Builders.

For more information, call Fred Bricketto at 768-0823, email fbricketto@simonini.com or visit www.simonini.com.

Dominick Tringali Architects is a residential, custom and community architectural firm specializing in the methodology lifestyle by design. The following is a summary of some of the important topics he presented about.

2010 Trends from Entrepreneur Magazine: sustainability, buying local, decreased consumer spending, growing number of entrepreneurs, alcohol beverage industry growing, and pet supplies industry also growing.

So, what does this mean in terms of the architectural / housing market?

Today's buyers are no longer looking for the 'McMansions' that were built a decade ago. Families want smaller homes that are easier to maintain, less expensive to operate, with less formal spaces and more flexible spaces, such as computer stations, mud rooms, second floor laundry, costco rooms, and hobby rooms. They want a floor plan designed to complement their lifestyle and increase family interaction. A home with quality design features and sustainable, healthy products. They want to entertain friends inside their home through bar areas, butlers pantries, and media rooms. They want to use outdoor living spaces for entertainment, as well as a place to relax and rejuvenate from a busy lifestyle. And they want all these things at an affordable price.

How can builders achieve a quality product like this in an affordable price range?

The Classic Yacht Villas: DTA designed a plan portfolio recently that is geared specifically to this type of market. This portfolio, called the Classic Yacht Series, was created based on an analysis of Yachts and how they incorporate unmatched luxury and quality into very small spaces.

Case Study Examples: Dominick discussed three DTA case study examples and showed a variety of building materials on these projects, which we commonly specify on many of our homes. These products are high quality, affordable alternatives to the much more expensive products that are available. Not only are these products affordable, but many are also healthy and sustainable. These products ranged from exterior stone, to interior plaster in lieu of paint, to indoor energy monitoring systems, to proper insulation materials, to affordable, pre-fabricated kitchens.

Outdoor Living Has Become a Standard: Does your product feature outdoor living? Today's buyers now expect it when purchasing a new home. Dominick showed examples of outdoor spaces we have created, in a variety of climates, and at a range of price points. In a special feature of his presentation this year, Dominick did a step-by-step example of how to create the ultimate outdoor living space, with affordable product options and pricing information.

For information about any of the topics in Dominick's presentation, or to receive a copy of the powerpoint to review, please give us a call at (248) 335-8888 or e-mail JamieQ@DTArchitects.com

Dominick Tringali Architects is a residential, custom and community architectural firm specializing in the methodology lifestyle by design. This product features energy efficiency ratings which rival the industry’s premium-priced window products. The H3 can save 15-20 percent on the total cost of windows, even with an Energy Star® rating of .31 U which far exceeds the current standard of .35 U. The H3 will also exceed a more stringent Energy Star standard of .32 U that will be implemented in April.

The window’s energy-efficient design is attributed to a number of factors, including a vinyl base frame, fully-sealed corners, a solid wood interior and high-end weather stripping. The efficient base design even allows for the use of extra thick extruded aluminum cladding. Hurd’s exclusive Fusion Technology TM locks it all together to ensure superior energy performance. The H3 also comes standard with Hurd’s ComfortGlazeTM Low-E, double strength glass.

Dominick Tringali Architects is a residential, custom and community architectural firm specializing in the methodology lifestyle by design. The DTA Design Team is working on smaller, more efficient homes that reflect the 'female home buyers' needs. This type of buyer is expecting bigger mud rooms, built in benches and lockers, and more storage space, all with added curb appeal. Builders looking to update their plans are leaving the AIA Review with great ideas to make their products more marketable in today's environment - all thanks to the DTA Design Team.

DTA's Revival Series 2010 also meets the criteria for the 2010 buyer. We thought this was a very accurate list of features to re-post on our blog because we are implementing many of these in our new home designs and renovation projects:

1.) Two-tiered cutlery divider: When the drawer is open, the top level can be slid back into the cabinet, allowing access to the lower level.

2.) Lift up doors: prevents bumping into open cabinet doors.

3.) Trash pull-out: Keep trash bins out of sight, but still easily accessible.

4.) Roll-out pantry drawers: Even if you have a separate pantry, it's handy to have some pantry storage for frequently needed items close to the food-prep point.

5.) Corner Lazy-Susan cabinet: This maximizes storage and makes stored items easily accessible. Even more useful are blind corner pull-outs. The first set of storage shelves pivots outward when the cabinet door is outward.

6.) Self-opening/closing doors and drawers: These doors open and close smoothly with just a touch. Motorized and non-motorized models are available.

7.) Pull-down shelving: A pull bar triggers a mechanism that moves high-shelving down to an accessible height. Useful for elderly or handicapped individuals.

8.) Filler pull-outs: Instead of covering filler space between appliances and cabinets with trim, have narrow pull-outs installed for storage of spices, trays, pots and pans, or cleaning supplies.

9.) Triple-drawer cabinet: The top drawer holds prep knives and cooking utensils. The deep lower drawers can be used for storing pots and pans or stacks of dishes.

10.) Pegged dish organizer: Handy for unloading the dishwasher and easily accessible to children, this low-level drawer has a pegboard base with dowels that can be positioned to hold dishes, bowls, cups, and saucers in place.

Dominick Tringali Architects is a residential, custom and community architectural firm specializing in the methodology lifestyle by design.
