Neighborhood Stabilization Program - DTA Helps Cities Make the Most of Their NSP Dollars

The US Department of Housing & Urban Development recently implemented the 'Neighborhood Stabilization Program' which provides emergency federal funds to state and local governments for the purposes of acquiring and redeveloping foreclosed properties that might otherwise become sources of abandonment and blight within their communities. These funds will enable qualifying local communities to purchase foreclosed or abandoned homes and rehabilitate, resell, or redevelop the homes to stabilize neighborhoods and increase home values.

Dominick Tringali Architects is now working together with several cities in our area, providing architectural guidance and assistance as they move forward with their NSP plans. How can working with a firm such as DTA make a positive impact on a city? We have created specific NSP Architectural Services to ensure that each city can get Dominick Tringali Architects caliber of architectural services, tailored directly to their particular needs and budget.

There are several facets to our NSP Architectural Services. Cities can pick and choose which services fit best with the plans established for their particular communities:

1. Affordable rehabilitation services - DTA will visit a community and analyze the existing architectural styles, take photos of each home slated for rehabilitation, and complete sketch overlays of each home with recommendations and suggestions for improving exterior elevations.

2. Affordable LEED design - by selecting pre-existing plans from our portfolio of green homes, or by using our consulting services to make existing homes or plans more sustainable, cities focusing on green housing can make their communities greener, in the most effective and affordable ways.

3. Neighborhood planning and visioning - DTA will visit a community and complete an analysis of vacant lots combined with existing homes, and create site plans which can be utilized as a guide for making the most practical use of each individual lot.

4. DTA's NSP Plan Portfolio - for tear-down and new construction infill projects, we have created a portfolio consisting of hundreds of smaller, affordable, efficient and easy to build plans. Cities can be confident that improving the value of existing homes and overall communities by infusing them with new homes which feature architectural authenticity and modern, functional floor plans.
